Day 7

September 22, 2023

Imagine.. Frank Sinatra singing…. And now the end is near….   Yep, second from last park day

Today, going to breakfast at Boma, Animal Kingdom Lodge, then Typhoon Lagoon, back to my resort, get my scooter and do Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party.  One of the reasons of staying at Bay Lake Tower is easy access to and from a walk path between Magic Kingdom and Bay Lake Tower.  Stay late for the party and get home… errr.. I mean back to my room.  Early dinner at the Crystal Palace.  My trip in April, I ate here after not for many years.  They had a hot dish I fell in love with, Shimp Creole.  Like I mentioned previously, Crystal Palace is a character meal, but I go for the food.

Mr Contemporay… how is the weather today??

And the shirt of the day……

I guess I need to explain this a bit.  I live by Coney Island.  A amusement corporation reused a classic amusement park name…. Luna Park which closed in 1944.  The new Luna Park opened on the land previously occupied by Astroland in 2010.

One of the Disney World resorts is called The Boardwalk.  It is based on Coney Island and Atlantic City.  Their pool area is called Luna Park, from the classic amusement park that closed in 1944.

So I am going to a water park, wearing a T-shirt that Disney uses to name one of their pool areas.  I think its appropriate
😊

Since I am going to Typhoon Lagoon straight from Animal Kingdom Lodge, no scooter, light on cameras too.  Just one besides my cell phone.  I have a water proof pouch for my cell phone.  My action camera is a Gopro 11.  I have a waterproof case and handle for the camera.  I like to film the water going to the camera.  But first lets go eat
😊

So I walk to the Magic Kingdom via the path.  Get on the bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Empty bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge and no scooter.

And the food begins  😊

Not fresh made to order omelets… but still a omelet.

No Zebra Domes for dessert… but I find something to eat anyway.

Now a days, there is no direct bus to Typhoon Lagoon.  You need to take a bus to Dowtown Disney… oh yea.. its called Disney Springs now.  At Disney Springs, you can transfer to a bus that goes to the water park.

Now its totally stupid what they have you do.  You get off the bus to Disney Springs, they force you to step into Disney Springs, because they place a barrier that prevents you from walking to the Typhoon Lagoon bus.  You enter Disney Springs, and walk around the barrier, to leave to the bus for Typhoon Lagoon.

Now this is the first time I am using my Annual Pass to enter a water park.  I constantly checked my AP grants me access, it does.  Still breathed a sigh of relief while I was ok to proceed.  First thing to do, get a locker.  I take a photo of it incase I forget the number.

I head to the wave pool.  Nothing like a hugh wave banging into you, to help you relax 😊

And my $55 new pool shoes with the mickey mouse little add ons.

The wave machine produces a new wave about every 90 seconds for 90 minutes.  Then 30 minutes of calmness before they start up the wave machine again.  Along the edge of the pool, there are seats.  Even at the very end of the wave pool, the waves still have lots of energy.  I also stand near the outer edge, about waist high.  The energy of the wave will spin you around.  Once years ago, it did knock me down.  The bottom of the pool is cement, so I did scrap my knee pretty good.  Went to first aid, put a band aid on it.  Said stay out of the water for a brief period so the band aid stays put on.  Never did.  So for most of the waves I am sitting.  I hold the camera near the water so you see the energy.  And when the water is calm, I venture deep into the water, neck high.

Here are some videos of the waves in action… and me in neck high water.  That thing bobbing around my neck, my smartphone in a waterproof pouch.

I leave the pool, head back to my resort and change into my not so scary shirt.   I wear my not so scary Halloween shirt my friend Tammy (no photo   ) got me years ago.

My door jam, a life saver entering and leaving my room.  I learnt from a friend years ago how to work the candy lines.  Sadly, she died from cancer years ago   First up, eating dinner at Crystal Palace.

Well.. actually I go on Pirates of the Caribbean first, since I have time.  Video came out very dark, sorry.

Then I go eat

On the left… Shrimp Creole.  At the top, they give everyone a character signature card, Pooh and friends.

Yes….. I even had some salad.  😊

I then go on Peter Pan.

Yes, came out dark, sorry.   Time to get my wrist band to officially check into Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

On my right hand, my Magic Band plus, fireworks,  My GoPro controller, and my MNSSHP wrist band.

Next up, my favorite ride, currently… Buzz Lightyear

And my score….

Whats this???  Tom Sawyer Island on fire???

Nah…. A fog machine to create the proper atmosphere 😊

So what ride do you go on for not so scary Halloween Party… Haunted Mansion of course.  Used a better camera, so you see more 😊

Between filling up with candies, I go setup and wait for the parade.  First up is the ride of the Headless Horseman down Main Street.  I stay in my usual place across the street from Hall of Presidents.

I remember when they used to allow the horse to gallop.  I understand the rider is really blind to see what the horse is doing, and the horse is really trained to follow the street.  The parade workers make sure everyones feet is out of the street.

And now the main event, The Boo to You Parade.  I like how the CM’s get into the act, dancing before the parade meets them.   And of course the highlight of the parade… The Grave Diggers.  Years ago, pre needing a scooter.  I once caught their act at the end of of Main Street, raced through the stores to the beginning and watched it again.

I did more candy lines, a couple of times in a row each one.  Each time I emptied the candy in a 2 gallon ziplock bag, only to enter another candy line.

While walking around Frontierland, they started the fireworks show for not so scary.  The fireworks are optimized to be viewed from Main Street.  So that’s why it doesn’t look as good as the angle I am watching it from.

I walk around doing more candy lines.  I start to leave, exit the Magic Kingdom a little after 11, and back in my room less then 15 minutes later.  Like they say in real estate, location location location.  Leaving the Magic Kingdom, decorated with lights.

And once back in my room… the take 😊
