Day three

I don’t know if they have this in other areas of the country.  But here in the New York area, they sell oval bumper car stickers for initials of what part of New York you live in.  I made copies of one for my neck of the city and placed it in the rear pouch to help ID where I live.

CI for Coney Island

I wanted to get a pennant that said Coney Island, but could never find one here.

Remember my missing table service meal credit?  When I got up, I called the front desk and inquired about it.  They looked at where the credits were spent and right away noticed that they charged me twice at Boma for breakfast yesterday.  The credited me back the extra credit.

I was also pretty tired having gotten to sleep at 3 am last night.  I had a 9 am adr for Crystal Palace. I felt like canceling it and staying in bed for a while.  I called and spoke to dining reservations.  They asked me why I wanted to cancel. I told them the truth, just not hungry.  They said they would penalize me if I don’t show up, think $10.  So I kept the ADR. I still had plenty of time to make it to the Magic Kingdom, so I got ready and headed to the bus station.

I guess the dining credit issue was bothering me, for as it was solved I was starting to get hungry. So I am glad I kept the ADR.  When checking in at restaurants, they frequently ask what resort you are staying at, if on property.  I never understood why till now.  I half joking/half serious thought that they sat you according to resort level.  The CM doing the check in stated to the people in front of me, some guests forget items at the table, so they know where to send the forgotten items to which resort.  Makes sense.

Now my knowledge of grits is limited to what I saw in the movie, My Cousin Vinney.  I see a tray and I take some.  I don’t know what it is supposed to taste like, but it’s pretty tasteless to me J  And here is the photo.

I am not one to mingle with the characters.  I have some eggs, omelets, Apple juice, and chocolate milk. And I am done here.

After eating, I head over to do Buzz Lightyear ride.  Not a good score.

I am going with the defective gun excuse J  In the queue itself, Buzz Lightyear is missing.  The space where he should be is covered up.

After Buzz, I do Carousel of Progress.  After COP, I have a Fastpass plus for the new Under the Sea: Journey of the little Mermaid.

On the way out of Tomorrowland, I pass PUSH, the talking moving trash can.

People are amazed at this, since it is interacting with the guests.

I do find the attraction ok, but I go on the wrong line.  Instead of using my FP+, I entered the normal standby line.  I figure this out since I am walking too much.  The queue is nice, has some imagery trickery, but I just keep walking.  Here is a photo of the entrance.

You see the ECV entering the queue? That is the standby line.  On the right side of the photo is the FP line.  Except for the clock you see, that is the only hint that you enter over there.

Here is the first video.

After riding it the first time, I use my fastpass plus to ride it a second time.

Here is that video.

After that I decide to get a orange soft serve ice cream.  Going by It’s a Tiny Planet, I am amazed that there is a honest to goodness line, the posted wait time shows 10 minutes for the standby.

I have my orange swirl ice cream J

I decide to head back to my resort to rest.  Being up so late last night is getting to me.  Fighting fatigued.  I don’t have any lunch plans, only dinner at 6 pm at Grand Floridian Café.

On the way down Main Street, I stop by the Emporium and find the new theme park CD, I buy that with some other items so I can purchase the special Mickey Mouse Sorcerers watch and I use my Disney Visa to pay for it to get a 10% discount on my purchase.

There was no bounce back offer in my room, as I usually find.  I tell people constantly that if they don’t have any offers in their room, to ask the concierge desk if they know of any.  Just because you don’t have one in your room, it doesn’t mean there isn’t any available.   Back at my resort, I stop by my resort’s concierge desk to inquire about any bounce back offers.   The person I spoke to at the desk advised me that they currently don’t have any.  He said he just inquired to management when another guest asked.   To call 407 Wdisney and ask if they know of any.

I send a email out saying there is no bounce back offers.  Mike emails me back saying to check my welcome material.  I do check and don’t find any.

Back in my room, I find this towel animal in my window.

They make my bed like this with another towel.

And this towel animal by my sink.

After sleeping for a couple of hours, I am heading back to the Magic Kingdom, to take the monorail to Grand Floridian Café for dinner.

Being on the basic dining plan, appetizers are not included, but I want the onion soup from here, so I order it and will pay for it.

I get the NY Strip Steak for my entrée.  For dessert I get the Boston Cream Pie.

After eating, I head to the monorail to go back to the Magic Kingdom.  Going down Main Street, people are already sitting and waiting for the Main Street Electrical Parade.  I figure I have about 90 minutes to wait, but I decide to find the handicap area and wait myself.

I first find the Fast pass reserve area, where they direct me to the handicap area.  The reason I missed it when I went by it is because they don’t have the rope up.  I find the CM in charge and she shows me the boundary of where the ropes will be.

Since I have the canopy on the scooter, I park it in the back and sit down on the floor by the curb.  Guest after guest, not knowing this is a reserved area because there is still no rope sit down next to me, only to be chased away by the CM.  I also broadcast this live on Ustream besides using my new camera to take video.  I like to see how this camera works at night to take video.

Here is the hidef version of MSEP.

After the parade, I know I am too close to the castle to see the Wishes fireworks show good, so I start to look for a better location.  I am down on Main Street when they show the new Castle projection show.  Interesting to watch.

Here is the video of the show.

I do record Wishes.  I do have a good view of above the castle, but I have people blocking me every so often.

After Wishes was over, The park closed so I was part of the mass exit.  Usual problems of too many people.

At the bus station for Pop Century, when I got to the front of the maze. I went through the gate with another guests help.   The cm saw and asked if I went through the maze or not. Told her yes. She thanked me.

Back at the resort, I do see inside a pamphlet titled Be Our Guest, there was a bounce back offer in the middle.  I thought this just had to do with the new restaurant or Fantasyland.  But it’s a welcome booklet for the whole resort. Before leaving,  I will call in and do the offer.
