Day Seven
I have breakfast at Kona Café in the Polynesian this morning. I will take the bus to the
Kona Café was full.
So much for only operating at 50%. I am seated by the window where the monorail
goes by.
Interested
to watch. I order my usual, steak and eggs.
Haven eated
my favorite breakfast… steak and eggs, I am entering
the
After Pirates, I used my DAS
pass for Peter Pan. I have a couple of
minutes to kill. Here is my enhanced
video of Peter Pan using a camcorder with night vision technology.
I used another Fast Pass Plus
for Jungle Cruise. Here is my video
taken riding the Jungle Cruise.
I then went to eat at Cosmic
Rays and be entertained by Sonny Eclipse.
Here is a quick video of
Sonny Eclipse.
I get my cheeseburger and my
cheese with fries.
The sky doesn’t look good
outside Cosmic Rays.
After lunch, I did
It really started to pour
now. I head over and watch Hall of Presidents. I really do like the canopy for the
scooter. The only trouble is the water
pools up on top. Here is my video of
Hall of Presidents.
I hope to do Country Bear
Jamboree. Cbj
was shut down for a bit. I like how they
explain it. They said it was temporarily
not in operating because ' one of the
bears escaped'. I joked with them, told them I would look for the bear in
the nearest bathroom. They pointed me to
the bathroom. I went back to the ride
and was notified they caught him, so the attraction was back in operation. This theater is one of the few theaters where
the handicap have front row seating. But
I have the canopy for my scooter. They
were concerned about this. So I just
transferred and lowered the canopy. Here
is my video of the Country Bear Jamboree.
After seeing CBJ, I am
waiting for the three pm parade. It stopped raining, but still Muggy. I just
felt a cool breeze. I am watching the
parade from what I am guessing is my spot, across the street from Hall of Presidents. You can still see how the streets are
wet. First up is my hi
def version.
This is my Ustream version. Slight difference. In
this version, I catch the dragon breathing fire more.
The newest afternoon parade
was nice.
I then went to Aloha Isle to get a Orange Swirl, but
the line didn’t move for 5 minutes, so I bailed. I may get it at the Poly later.
I got another fastpass+ for Buzz Lightyear
but when I got there the standby was less than 5 minutes. So I did standby then
fp plus. Second time maxed out score in first room.
Yes I cheated.:)
On the ceiling is a flying dinosaur with high value score. Ride stopped and in
15 seconds maxed out at 999999.
Here is my video of how I
cheated J
I then did stitch. After that I headed back to the Poly to eat
at ‘Ohana.
It was
After the attraction I headed out of the park and towards the resort monorail
station. Well the line for the resort monorail was 1/2 way down the
ramp. The monorail in the station wasn’t moving. I didn’t see any
other monorails on the resort loop moving. People were leaving and heading for
other means of transportation where they could. I think they were
probably doing a monorail switch beam as this always shut down the whole
system, even before the deadly crash a couple of years ago.
I got to the Poly about 10 minutes after my ADR time, not a problem. I
waited a couple of minutes before the buzzer went off. And this is when
things went bad.
I was seated at a table, told my server would be along shortly to take my drink
order. And I waited.... and waited.... and waited..
that another server noticed I wasn’t getting any
attention, and brought me a glass of water. Now I swear what I am about
to say... really did happen. When they seat you, they stop by and get you
a pineapple bread and take it with you to your
table. When the server finally shows up, she brings me a little think of
butter, puts it down, gives me the usual spiel about
eating there. Before leaving, she says.. she will bring me some butter, but oh, she says.. you already have butter.
Finally other people brought me my starters, soda,
they come around with the different items. I never see my 'server'
again. When I get the bill, I have another persons name on it. I
have no clue, but it did happen.
salad
chicken
wings and pot sticklers
more
starters
left over
shells from shrimps
dessert,
bread pudding with ice cream
I didn’t like what replaced the salad. I miss the Honey lime salad.
I even liked what they replaced it with, a green salad with a fruity
dressing. I don’t even know what to say what it was they brought
me. Then they brought over another plate later with a couple of pieces of
dumplings (pot stickers) and chicken wings. A couple of minutes later
another plate of linguini (or whatever it is called in the far
east?) and some other vegetables. I had like 20 plus pieces of
shrimp. About 5 pieces of steak and 2 of the pork.
Dessert still is bread pudding with ice cream. Now I am sitting solo, but
they still bring me over the large plate of the bread pudding with ice cream,
and a small plate for me to eat from. I know it is just protocol to bring
over a small plate to eat from, not directly from the large dish.. but I am eating solo, not
sharing. did I really need my own small plate??
I decided to go to Downtown Disney afterwards. Magic Kingdom had a not so
scary nite tonight. And
tomorrow nite meeting some people, so that just left
tonight to do some shopping. so I get
back on the monorail to the
I had a.. call it a incident?
or something on the bus. I have a scooter with a
canopy on it. When on the bus, the canopy folds over, actually the rear
back portion of the seat folds down, so does the canopy that attaches to
it. I fold it down because some people don’t have respect for other peoples property. Yes, it doesn’t belong to me, but if
someone breaks the scooter, it is my time that gets wasted getting a
replacement.
So a kid.. 8 or 10 years old... is standing right by
the scooter, and he is constantly pushing against the canopy. So I said
something. I kept saying excuse me till I got his attention and simply
said, stop pushing against the canopy, you are going to break something.
He said he was doing that so people can walk by him. It was game, he
couldn’t keep still. What I am guessing was his mother..
maybe his grandmother?? looked
at me, take a bundle she was holding, places it in the middle of the folded
down canopy and smiles at me. I just looked at her..
and said.... really...... It was like a game to
her, but she picked it up. Then her husband spoke up, said you are going
to make a 55 yo hold onto a package that doesn’t
weigh much because you are afraid she is going to break something. He
continued to say.. blame
Disney because they are the ones that are making his family stand like
that. I just ignored him and his family. Didn’t
even make eye contact. Just some people don’t respect other peoples properties. Nothing
else happened. They didn’t break the scooter or say anything else to me.
I dropped the scooter off in the room and headed back to the bus station for
DTD. Short waits. I had about $60 some odd dollars on my rewards
card, and another $117 that I could transfer. I bought some new music
CD's that I wanted. finding Nemo
the musical, Saving Mary Poppins CD soundtrack, and I
bought another towel. That left me with less then a dollar in rewards
money left on the redemption card.
I then proceeded to walk down towards where Disneyquest
is. But I only made it as far as the Lego Store as the construction was
blocking my usual path and started to walk back to the buses.
I went into the Market Coop. I picked up one of the 20k leagues tankers
and asked the employee how much for these mistake glasses?? He goes what
mistake? I show him where it says Tomorrowland
on it. He gives me a blank look. I tell him the sub ride was
in Fantasyland, where they just built the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, he goes
oh. Are we talking such a long time ago that people forget??
I went outside, called Chase rewards and moved the remaining money onto the
rewards card. I bought a 20k leagues coaster and a mug that had images of
the opening of the Magic Kingdom.
On the way out, I stopped by the Art of Disney store. They had this cute
original painting spoof of 20k leagues called 20,000 leaks under the Sea,
staring Mickey, Donald and Goofy. It had a price tag of almost
$400. I did find this bin where they had mass prints of this for
$40. I had that in my hand when I noticed they had a model of the
Nautilus from the ride in a display case. The price tag was $86, but I
still had $79 left on my redemption card. So I put back the poster and
asked for help buying the model. It’s a Olszenski sculpture, if that means anything to anyone.
They brought one item from the back, and opened it to let me examine it. There
was a mark on the brass plate, like a line through it. So they looked for
another one, had no more. offered to sell me the
display model, went to look for the box, couldn’t find the box, so they
switched the base on display for the damaged one in the box. Just took
forever for this to take place. But I was happy and got my new sculpture
from my favorite ride.
Here are photos of the items
I bought.
and here are some photos that interested me, but I didn’t
buy.
Getting the bus for pop is another story. How about this?? A Pop Century bus station being the closest bus station??? Yep, at the Marketplace. I walked passed it because I
just couldn’t figure it could be the nearest to the walkway. So when I
walk past it, I ask for help, the gentleman tells me..
its that bus station over there... where there is a
bus waiting to take on passengers. I walk a bit too fast.. my ankle starts to cry in pain,
but I make it there just in time to be told that bus is now servicing the Tree
House Villas, not Pop Century ;(
So I am guided to wait in a line. another bus
pulls in, says pop century on it. but the people
in front of me arent moving. I ask.. to make sure that I am in the
right line. That second bus goes out of service. Finally a third
one comes and after a bit, we board that bus.
Tomorrow.. last day... only
thing worth in the AM is toy story at
