Tuesday, July 21st, Disney day 3
Today we are going to Disney
Hollywood Studios.
Last night, I changed out the
scooter, but the replacement is no good either.
Last night, I couldn’t make it up the ramp of the bus. I figured maybe the scooter needed to be
charged. After a night of charging the
scooter, just trying to drive it to the bus station, I just didn’t feel it
could make it up the ramp either, so I called up Walker Mobility and made
arrangements to have this scooter replaced with another.
Yesterday, I noticed a bus
heading towards the studios couldn’t handle scooters. Today, the same issue. One bus pulls in, cant
handle a scooter. So we wait for another
bus. This one too cant
handle scooters. I saw a bus monitor and complained/asked how I should be
getting to the studios with my scooter?
He looked at his tablet and said there should be a normal Disney bus
that can handle scooters in a couple of minutes. He was right.
I made it up the ramp without issue, my mother needed help.
Entering the studio, the bag
check security guard takes a good look at the monopod before deciding it is ok
to enter with.
We head to Muppetvision, perhaps for the last time as there has been rumors for years about it closing.
After Muppetvision,
we go to Toy Story and use the Fast pass here.
This was the one that concerned me to use, as it had to be timed just
right. We timed it right and enter
without a problem.
I am player 1
We then entered Great Movie
Ride using my DAS.
The attraction has under some
changes since last year. It has been rethemed with American Movie Classics cable channel, AMC
for short. The ride portion is the
same. Some minor differenced in
monologue. The movie trailer portion in
the queue area changed. So was the
ending montage. I like the ending
montage better.
After that we head to Voyage
of the Little Mermaid, the studios Little Mermaid attraction.
After that we headed to
Sunset Strip where my mother and I shared a chicken and rib dinner. I got a large diet soda and two ice waters,
and a extra plate.
We headed out of the park to
visit our family at the Yacht Club. We
take the path from the Studios to the Boardwalk. If I didn’t notice it before, I notice it
now, my scooters top speed is slower then my mothers. I don’t feel like changing out the scooter
again, getting ridiculous. So I make
due.
We make it to the resort
before the rest of my family does. We
park out scooters just outside of the resort by the buses. We visit and relax in their room. It’s a single large room with just two large
beds and it has a balcony.
We leave their room, do a
tour of the Boardwalk before we head back to the studios and go in and see One
Mans Dream.
My favorite
item to look for… the Nautilus from the movie, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea.
My mother says something that
scares me… she wants to see something Frozen.
I first get a DAS return time
for Toy Story then search and find something, a Frozen
short cartoon that opens every 30 minutes.
The first part of the showing is a making of documentary. Then the animation short about the sister
with the magic tries to throw a birthday party for the other sister, and the hyjinx that follows.
We then used the DAS for Toy
Story. Here is something interesting
happened. I am about to enter the FP
entrance of Toy Story when a woman with a child in a wheel chair tried to get
in front of me with some sort of pass. I
figured a party of two really didn’t matter, but after she entered, she said
she was a party of 7. That bothered me,
maybe made a sound indicating it, after all, I was in
front of her, just about to enter. Well.. she was nice and let me and my
mother enter in front of her party.
We then went to eat at
We just went to the theater
which was already open, parked our scooters on the top and moved down to a row,
hopefully it wont be blocked as I am going to try and
broadcast it live besides recording it.
Here is the hidef video I took of the show.
And I did do a Ustream broadcast too, even
though no one was watching, I did broadcast it and here is that video.
After Fantasmic
was over, we wait for the crowd to lesson before we attempt to leave the
theater. When we make it to the street,
we see the Frozen Fireworks but head out of the park. They have corals in the streets for people
who want to watch the fireworks. And a clear path for people who want to leave the park. The CM’s keep the
clear path moving, as if someone stops to look at the fireworks,
they get the person walking again.
We make it out of the park
and to the bus for the ride back to the resort.
Once back in the resort, I
plug the charger into the scooter and it is indicating it is fully
charged. I plug in my mothers charger
and its shows it is charging my scooter, so it looks like the charger
failed. Will deal with it tomorrow,
perhaps the scooter is being charged, just not indicating it is charging.
