Saturday, July 25th, trip home
Even though I had a
I basically threw everything
into the suitcase and backpack, went through the room a couple of times to make
sure I didn’t forget anything.
First stop was airline drop
off. We already had our tickets, printed them out at the Boardwalk
Concierge desk the previous night. This is the first time using Magical
Express. They weighed our luggage, beat out my mother by less then a
pound, hers were 37 something. Mine was 38 something.
I think the magic number is 50 before getting hit with additional fees.
The next time we should see the luggage is the baggage carousel at LaGuardia
(LGA) Airport
Next stop is Art of
Animations Concierge Desk to get a voucher for Magical Express bus to get us to
the airport. Slight problem getting the voucher.
We were originally booked into Pop Century. Due to a
issue with the reservation, we were transferred to Art of Animation. The
Magical Express booking was still under Pop Century. After a bit of
computer time, they switched us to the Art of Animation Magical Express bus.
The bus was already in the
parking lot once we got the voucher. The next stop was the airport.
Went through security without issue.
For some reason, my mother
booked us the side of the airplane with three seats thinking that chances are
good that there might not be someone between us. Fat chance, while
waiting for the plane, several people were flying standby and were told the
plane was full. Good news for those people I saw flying standby, they
were on the plane.
The flight itself was a bit more bumpy then the ride down to
It was nice to see my
mother’s luggage first, mine a bit later. I am surprised even in
We had access a ride pick us
up at the airport and drive us home. The driver was nice, but relied too
much on GPS. We took the BQE home. I closed my eyes for a minute,
only to find he exited off the BQE at Downtown Brooklyn. I directed the
driver to go back onto the BQE at
I got home, took my mail up,
went to sleep for about 5 hours.
The end.
