Can the ride be made operational? I have been getting that question a lot.

What exactly is the Parachute Jump? A 271 foot tall steel structure.

Moving parts? None that I am aware of. Since I have never seen it in operation, this is how I think it works.

A rope attached to the top of the parachute brings the parachute with the people attached up the tower,

Till some kind of mechanism releases the rope from the parachute, letting gravity bring the parachute back down

Hopefully opening the parachute to slow the decent. Ok, remove the word hopefully J

Can the ride be made operational? Yes. Who will run it?

Just like the world famous Cyclone, the city owns it and the land under it.

The owners of Astroland currently operate the Cyclone in a arrangement with the city.

So who will run it? The city will probably ask for bids of potential operators.

How much could it cost to ride? My local paper interviewed the operators of Deno's Wonder Wheel and Kiddie Park.

He said he will submit a proposal and put a price of $20 per ride.
